Whitby Gothic Weekend

Twice a year for over a decade, the town of Whitby, in Yorkshire has hosted the 'Whitby Gothic Weekend'

Whitby was already a brilliant place for darkness lovers, as it is one of the settings for Bram Stoker's Dracula. (You can see where it is on the map, thanks to my brilliant editing skills xD) The first event was organised by Jo Hampshire in 1994, and since then it has become so popular that it happens twice a year, usually in April and October (for Halloween). They have events, such as markets, boat rides, even sand castle building contests, and, of course, live music.

Whitby also has a beautiful ruined Abbey, which English Heritage uses for 'Days and Nights of Victorian Gothic' with a Victorian funeral procession, which includes a horse drawn carriage.

I went to Whitby earlier this year, and no goth events were on, but I still saw a hand full of goths (more than you'd normally see, anyway). We stayed in this gorgeous little cottage, that was about 400 years old. When we went shopping, we were walking for maybe two minutes before we found a shop selling alternative clothing. In a day we found about five or six shops like that (one that had a really cool 'throne of darkness' which you could sit on and have your picture taken, and all the profits from that went to a bat charity, which I think is pretty awesome) and we hadn't been all over the town. Of course there's stuff for 'normal' people too, and it is a sea side town with a beach, so it is a good holiday resort.

Anyhoo, I'm going to be at the next Gothic Weekend in October, and I promise to write about it, and post some pictures ;D This will be my first time going there, and I have high expectations!! And if you can, you should totally go too. That is, if you can't get to Transylvania...

The 'Fashion Club' look

Okay, so I realized that there were quite a few people around Stardoll with this look going on. I don't know if it has a different name, but I've heard people calling it the Fashion Club look. Yeah, it's not very dark or heavy, but I just had to try it out. I mean, seriously?! It's how a five year old would decorate a MeDoll. I just don't get the look. A face full of blusher, no visible lips, eyelashes made of moles... Is there a person who has done this look in real life, or something? It reminds me of a Barbie I had when I was younger that I gave a makeover. I have nothing against people who's dolls are like this, but I seriously just don't get it. I'm sorry.

Punk vs. "Punk"

When most people think of Punk, the first thing that pops up is either Avril Lavigne or Greenday. What most people don't know is the Punk is a culture that arrived in 1975 as a rebellious musical movement. As much as Greenday and Blink 182 is on the radio, Punk is actually suppose to be a sort of a Anti-Corporate/Anti-Conformist attitude. Unfortunately, that isn't around anymore and all we have is little 11 year-olds wearing eyeliner and pink skulls while they claim Tokio Hotel is the "shit".

This is NOT Punk:

It's just a prep wearing black.

This is Punk:

At least they made the promise of never going mainstream.

See the difference? Now after reading this, I hope you don't claim to be punk unless you actually know the history. Punk is dead.... very dead.

Good morning!!

Hello everyone, I'm a new writer here ^__^

I'm The Mess. You may call me... Mess!! You can find me around Stardoll. I go by the name of goth__girl_

I do wish I could change my username, but I suppose I'm stuck with it forever now. But feel free to add me, I'll probably accept, as long as it's not blank.

Anyhoo, you'll probably find me blogging about music, clothes, make up, the internet, or if not I'll probably be complaining about something or other. I don't like to get in arguments over the internet, unless someone is being a complete douche and disrespecting other people's beliefs or lifestyle, so if I'm horrible to someone, I'm in a REALLY bad mood. And I'm very sorry. Because I love you all. Very much :D I will try to be a good blogger!!

So, yeah. Thank you to Mystic_Darkness for taking the risk of letting me write here!! Have a lovely evening, everyone!! ^___^

Stardoll Discrimination

As some of you know, my club Satanic_Goths has been deleted. And I am VERY aggrevated. I don't mind if they delete my club, but I noticed that most satanic clubs are being deleted by Stardoll Staff. I don't even know why they deleted it. It wasn't offending anybody at all. Yet they let Christian, Jewish, and Muslim clubs to run. Trent (XIndustrial666X) originally made Satanic_Goths last year and it was deactivated by Stardoll Staff. He asked me to continue the club for him. Satans_Blood was deactivated. My club was deactivated. Yet they allowed a club that discriminates goths, gays, sinners, etc. to continue. Since I am very loyal to my religion, I am going to gather my fellow satanists to tell stardoll off. Besides, if this continues, I will sue stardoll.
